The Workshop
Welcome to our workshop in the vibrant surrounding of Gothenburg’s creative scene! In a two-day-event, Team Frozen Atlantis presents the prototype of the Storyverse, a browser-based 3D Interface to explore a universe filled with stories told in transmedial ways.
We are looking forward to creating an event to bring together people from different fields and are most curious about your input.
• contribute: your perspectives and the horizons you open up will matter for the next stages of development
• meet team Frozen Atlantis in a state of the art venue and enjoy visual and artistic presentations that engage with the latest of equipment
• creating beats debating: allowing our skills to pool organically, together we engage in sprints of conceptualising and developing
• meet your allies: together we shape the future of visual storytelling and new projects
Rethinking academic output
As academics in the 21st century, we are challenged to radically rethink the language and formats in which we present our research. Team Frozen Atlantis faces these challenges, pioneering in the use of alternative media formats – illustrated essays, film, theatre, or art performances.
At the heart of our efforts is ‚The Storyverse‘ – an intuitive way to explore stories behind landscapes told through video-episodes, photography, prose, poetry, art, and sound.
The organisers want to make the workshop a memorable and inspiring event for everybody. We are excited to meet you all in Gothenburg!

Open Doors at Frozen Atlantis HQ
For those of you who are already in town: feel free to join us for drinks and some snacks in the evening (do bring your friends / partners!)!
We are keeping open doors at our ’swimming homebase‘ – simply drop by from 19:30 onward (no registration required).
How to find Frozen Atlantis HQ
We expect you on our house boat mooring at the northern side of the harbour. Head for Vega Bryggeri on your navigation app and you will find us a little bit down from there right next to the water!

We are looking forward to the first official day of the workshop!
Both workshop days take place at Visual Arena, Lindholmen.
On Friday the official programme begins at 9:30. The organisiers will be around from 9:00 onward to welcome you.
Feel free to arrive a bit before the programme starts to enjoy a coffee and already meet some of the other participants!
9:30 Welcome and Intro

11:30 (ca) First coffee break
12:15 (ca) Transition into the fluid part of the workshop!
>> Exchange ideas and inspire each other in free-flowing structures
>> Create and enjoy project presentations, input talks, and surprises!
>> Light lunch, coffee, snacks, and a buffet will be served on site
17:45 Open Screen
Frozen Atlantis meets the public!
We hand over the stage and Big Screen to creative contributions from a wider public as well as our participants (read more here)

>> 18:10–19:10 (ca) Performances (want the stage? Apply here!)
>> followed by mingling and networking over finger food
After the Open Screen we move on together from Visual Arena enjoy a drink in a nearby pub.
You can easily reach Visual Arena by taking the ferry from the Centre (Stenpiren).
10:00 Meeting at Visual Arena
>> Together we continue working with the ideas from the previous day and engage in developing sprints
>> Snacks, coffee, and light lunch served on site
15:00 (ca) We move on to the Lindholmen Street Food Market together to conclude the workshop in a vibrant surrounding.
19:00 Informal dinner with our guests who are still around (on a self-paid basis)
