Jean Botev


Jean is a Senior Research Scientist at the Department of Computer Science (DCS) and the head and founder of the VR/AR Lab at the University of Luxembourg. Before joining the University in 2009, he was at the University of Trier (Germany) and City University, London (UK), where he acquired an interdisciplinary background in Computer Science and Media Studies.

His research explores how social and technical systems interrelate to develop immersive applications and novel mediated-reality experiences. He is involved in numerous international initiatives ranging from serious games to increase awareness of climate change and deforestation to robotic telepresence and human- computer interaction. He is currently working on a project that explores how time perception can be actively influenced through multisensory stimuli.
